Photobucket

A slice of rye bread with coconut oil, a tangerine, an apple, yogurt with flax and müesli.

Still no sign of Finnair! Patience, stay with me!

Where can I find coconut oil? That would be something worth trying. Oh and where do you use coconut oil? (:

I'm glad you asked! Firstly, I'd like to say that coconut oil rocks and I really encourage you to try it!

I don't know where you are at the moment, in which city or country I mean, but here in Oulu I found coconut oil at Punnitse & Säästä and the other health food store, Life. It's a bit pricey (about 12 euros a jar), but it's good stuff and a little goes a long way. You're searching for words "unrefined" and "extra virgin" or at least "virgin" on the jar. Those are the important things, refined coconut oil I hear is just some cheap stuff you're better off without.

I use coconut oil on my toast, in my oatmeal, as a body moisturizer, hand cream and face cream (morning and night! on your face a little Really goes a long way, about a pea sized amount is almost more than enough). Still coming up with new things to use it on or with, it hasn't been very long since I started using it. But already I can see it's doing wonders to my poor dry autumn skin.

Sorry if this sounded like a total commercial :D I'm just excited since it's still rather a new thing for me as well. If you decide to try it, I'd be happy to hear how you like it!

Oooooh! That oil sounds like a potential saviour :D I have dry skin as well, atopic to be exact, and armcrooks suffer the most >.< I'm not a very avid skin cream consumer so this might be just perfect (: And it also sounds very delicious! Rye and coconut, I wonder how Hawaii and Finland taste together, lol.
I'll check out Kajaani, that's the nearest city to me nowadays (I live in Sotkamo).

Thanks for your answer Maaret!!

Oh no but thank you for asking! I love comments and questions. :)

I can tell that Finland and Hamaii taste just wonderful together :D Oh, I'm glad to hear this could help you out! I think you really should give it a try if you can find it. It might take some weeks up to a month before you can see any improvement on your skin, though (I read this somewhere), but you might already see a difference in days if you apply it several times a day to the driest spots.

Today I also discovered that it also works as a pre-wash conditioner, makes hair very soft and shiny. Just add some all over your (dry) hair some 10 min before washing, then proceed as usual. Also seems to bring out hair color better!

I'll keep you posted if I discover more :D
